This Eldredgeia venustus Trilobite Nodule Necklace appears, at first, to be a small stone, but this stone contains a treasure! The “nodule” opens up by means of a concealed hinge to reveal a beautifully preserved specimen of Eldredgeia venustus, a common phacopid trilobite.

Eldredgeia venustus, from South American rock formations of the Devonian period. is often found in concretion (nodule form). This nodule is a remarkable conversation-piece that you won’t want to put down. From the bulbous glabella on its cephalon (head) to its 11 elegantly sculpted thoracic segments, to the notched fringe of its pygydum, no detail has been overlooked. Even the legs and hypostome on the underside of the trilobite have been carefully recreated!

The nodule (the outer portion of the pendant) has an antiqued pewter finish which contrasts with the antiqued brass finish of the trilobite within. Great for paleontologists, fossil collectors, and anyone fascinated by the study of ancient life!
