My trilobite Pendant with built-in magnifier is the perfect accessory for the fashionable field paleontologist! Concealed at the front of this accurately sculpted trilobite (within its hypostome), is a hinge, which allows you to open it, revealing a handy magnifying lens, as well as indications of its internal anatomy.
This pendant is modeled after a trilobite of the order Proetida. Proetids appear in the fossil record up until the time of the Permian-Triassic (P-T) extinction, making them the last known living order of trilobites. A functional accessory for amateur and professional paleontologists, and anyone fascinated by prehistoric life!
Comes with a stainless steel bead-chain, and a colorful explanatory diagram.
Dimensions (pendant only): 3.3 cm long X 2.2 cm wide X 1.0 cm deep
Weight: 14.4 Grams
8x acrylic magnifying lens measures 12mm in diameter. Please note that sourcing inexpensive lenses was difficult, and while I am happy with the solution I found, it might not measure up to glass lenses found in mass produced loupes.
